The Journey Of A Book
My Purpose
THE CHILDREN
I love shared emotions. I love stories that move me. I also love fairytales, happily-ever-afters, and anything prince or princessy. And I love children. Actually I am super grateful for children.
Children are our hope and their light, when permitted to shine, is contagious.
Simply put, the world needs them to shine.
I adore their voices and giggles. I adore how they dance in the middle of a crowded square.
And I adore how children can just say it as it is. Of course they can. They are so amazingly courageous.
ENCOURAGE US TO EMBRACE OUR EMOTIONS
When we teach a child that it is alright to feel all types of emotions, we are teaching them to stay true to their beautiful origin. This is something that too many of us lose as we grow into responsible adults and that this fast-paced, competitive world is stealing from our children.
When we stray from our origin, we don’t feel comfortable with who we truly are – full human beings with good emotions and bad emotions. And we feel sad, disconnected, lonely, and scared.
We do not feel comfortable in this world.
This is because negative emotions are frowned upon. As children we are often taught to quickly push them away or cover them up.
Children hear things like:
- Stop crying.
- That’s enough.
- Crying makes you look like a baby.
- Put a smile on your face.
- You are embarassing me.
This reinforces the idea that emotions make us weak. So we stray even farther away and farther from our inner power – a power that is able to always guide us back to love, connection, and joy (and who we are meant to be) when our emotions are acknowledged.
THE SAD PRINCESS inspires us not to be afraid of our emotions.
THE SAD PRINCESS is about all of us because we all have both a sad and happy prince or princess inside.
It is not realistic to feel good all the time. Being happy is not this.
I believe that our degree of happiness is directly related to how grateful we are for our ability to feel.
When we understand that all emotions belong, and are grateful for them, we are no longer afraid of them.
We know how to find our way back to our happily-ever-after smile whenever it strays.
INSTILL CORE VALUES FOR A BETTER WORLD
This soulful and heartwarming story is about courage, determination, kindness, compassion, joy, gratitude, connection, and personal responsibility.
THE SAD PRINCESS instills essential core values that will guide our children (and humans of all ages) towards their inner and outer smiles and ultimately, make the world a more loving and peaceful place to live.
Determination
I have been trying to publish a children’s book for almost 10 years. YES, 10 years!
I have written many stories and have come extremely close several times. One thing or another – my lifestyle, an economic crisis of a publisher, the pandemic – I always had to abandon.
I finally decided to self-publish this last book that I wrote, THE SAD PRINCESS – The search for a happily-ever-after smile.
This is the power of determination. This is our inner power.
Being determined means believing in ourselves and whatever truly matters to us.
We know that we can begin again as many times as it takes and that we don’t give up.
We focus on our effort and not the outcome. This is where the joy is.
Doubt
At the age of 53, I have had many moments of doubt. With this book and in my life.
How many times with how many things was I tempted to give in to the idea that it is not going to happen, it is not worth it or it is going to take too long… I am too old!
However, if I didn’t give up, I owe it to my daughters and my practice.
My daughters because they just inspire me to believe in myself. If I ask them to believe in themselves can I honestly ask anything less of myself first? And isn’t this how we teach them about self-love and love for life?
And my practice, (yoga, meditation, the practice of gratitude, compassion, self-love, patience, and forgiveness. My writing) because it is just as committed to me as I am to it.
Whenever I lose my way, my practice is there to catch me, hold me, and lovingly remind me that I know how to rise.
Delivery
After a long wait for the illustrations and much doubt whether this project would end up like all the other times, the book is almost complete. And I am so excited to share it with you.
This inspirational story is a perfect mixture of happy, moving, and motivational. It even includes a touch of rhyme which always spices things up.
And illustrator and new friend, Rebecca Lisotta, worked really hard with me to make the illustrations absolutely gorgeous!
This is a perfect gift for a child in your life or for anyone who is going through a moment of darkness – anyone who needs to remember the way back to their beautiful and empowering smile.

I Need Your Help
THE SAD PRINCESS is the first of many other stories about life and core values that I have rumbling around in my head and heart. I would love for this to turn into a series.
In sync with my belief that asking for help is a strength and not a weakness, I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP. Because honestly, I have no idea how I am going to spread the word about this book.
So I humbly and gratefully ask you to please purchase it. And if you like it, LEAVE A REVIEW, purchase other copies for gifts, and RECOMMEND IT – word of mouth and on your social media pages would be perfect.
May we never give up on our children or our dreams.
My heart reaching out to yours,
