Hello Darling Friend!
Thank you once again for Upgrading the connection! And I really mean it because I know that another email in your inbox is most probably one of the last things you need. And yet… you chose to connect with me in this way. (Know that I am smiling big & wide as I type this) Well, I am gonna do my very best to insure that you will never want to delete these messages before reading them. I promised you an UPGRADED dose of INSPIRATION here. (Hopefully they will make your mouth stretch out and up too!) So relax and breathe in the goodness. And to map out what you can expect, know that each message will be divided into five sections: Intro, Words, Thoughts, Actions & Recommendations. Here we go… WORDS ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: “The good news is that you are alive, and the linden tree is still there, standing firm in the harsh winter…. that you have wonderful eyes to touch the blue sky…. that your child is there before you and your arms are available: hugging is possible… The dandelion is there by the sidewalk, smiling its wondrous smile, singing the song of eternity. Listen to it!” – Thich Nhat Hanh THOUGHTS ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: There is an abundance of good news in each of our days. This is everything that is happening in the world, near and far, that they do not publish. I remember speaking with an Australian friend of mine. It was about 20 years ago. I know, almost another world. She had just returned from a trip in the US and was visiting family in Italy. She was horrified by the news she saw in both countries. “The morning news is so depressing. And the evening news could kill ya. Watching it all makes my eyes and heart burn.” She said that the news in Australia was mostly uplifting. Acts of kindness. Family. Nature. Sporting events. Much has changed in these past two decades. I am pretty sure that they can’t shove the bad stuff under a rock even Down Under nowadays. The web alone does a pretty perfect job of intricately weaving and expanding all types of information far and wide. And I am not suggesting that we avoid what is happening around the world. However, there is a difference between being well-informed and being terrorizedby information on a daily basis. (Let’s face it, it is impossible to know one from the other anymore.) The latest: Orange skies and burning eyes leaving New Yorkers to look up in panic and say: “What the hell is this?, resurrecting once again famiiar feelings of helplessness against forces out of our control. So… Yes the world is a crazy, hot mess. And there is too much horrific stuff. Yes it involves us. And we need to attempt to understand. BUT NO. This is not everything. Good things, people, lives, news. They exist and focusing on these things is healthy, necessary and ethical. Heads above ground and hearts raised high. This is not a rose colored glasses space. We won’t sugarcoat the ugly, bad or terrifying. But we will learn to transform the challenges into assets, build our strength, courage and grace, focus on our blessings, and love our lives. THIS IS THE GOOD NEWS! ACTIONS ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: So for today, make a list of all the goodness in your life right now. The basic essentials, body parts, people, qualities & talents, dandelions, butterflies & sunsets… your fuzzy-wuzzy slippers and the soft, over-sized towel you wrap yourself in after every hot bath or shower. Add the hot bath or shower as well. EVERYTHING. You can do it in a notebook, on a sheet of paper, or on post-its to hang around your home… in a doc on your computer or phone. If you do not rush through it, you will literally fill up pages. Acknowledge all these beautiful reasons to smile. This is this week’s assignment. DO NOT SKIP THIS! Then if you have time go and read the Full Disclosure Message (click here) so that we are on the same glorious page.
